More than a year after Oprah Winfrey’s famed television show ended, she made her first appearance back on the couch. True to her style, the former talk show queen chose a new platform and gave a vintage live chat performance for one hour on Facebook. She spoke, among other things, on OJ Simpson, who incidentally just had the 10th anniversary of his historic acquittal in the 1994 murder case of his former wife and her friend.
“I just want to hear him say he did it and I’ll be happy,” Oprah enthralled her Facebook audience with these words. OJ is the one interview she is desperate to do, revealed Oprah, who partly owns the fledgling OWN cable network along with Discovery Communications. The fact that she chose to appear on Facebook may be indicative of her aim to draw the social media users to OWN and her flagging site Oprah.com, which has a steady decline in the number of visitors ever since her afternoon show ended.
