In a violent crime, former South Florida high school football star Stedman Bailey was shot Tuesday night and remains in an intensive care unit following a surgery that took just under five hours to complete. Stedman is currently a wide receiver for the St. Louis Rams. Reports by the Sun Sentinel state that he was shot in the head while leaving a residence in Miami Gardens, Florida.
Apparently Bailey was shot in the head at least two times while sitting outside of the residence with approximately four other individuals. The other documents of the vehicle, two of which were children, were unharmed. According to witnesses more than two shots were fired and numerous shell casings were recovered from the scene.
Countless fans, teammates and family members have expressed their support via social media following the incident.
