Lawyer James Weick
James Weick graduated from John Carrol University and received his law degree from the Ohio Northern University School of Law in 1993. In 1993, he began his legal career as a State Prosecutor in Ohio. As a District Attorney in Ohio, Mr. Weick handled thousands of cases in which people were charged with various crimes ranging from Driving Under the Influence to Murder. He quickly moved up the ranks to become the youngest attorney ever to be the Chief Prosecutor in Lima, Ohio. As a Chief Prosecutor, Mr. Weick was responsible for the outcome of ever case in his office as well as the actions of many District Attorneys he supervised.
In 1998, Mr. Weick moved to Florida and was recruited by the State Prosecutor in Florida. For over seven years, Mr. Weick was a member of the Sex Crimes Unit of the State Attorney’s Office. During this time, he became one of the State’s foremost experts on DNA testing. Mr. Weick was responsible for assisting other lawyers with cases involving complex DNA issues.
After leaving the State Attorney’s Office, Mr. Weick dedicated his entire practice to defending those individuals charged with criminal offenses. Mr. Weick has handled thousands of cases in virtually every area of criminal law. Due to his expertise, Mr. Weick has been asked by his clients to travel to different counties throughout the State of Florida to defend them. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Weick has tried hundreds of criminal cases including those in which people were charged with First Degree Murder. He has testified and been qualified by a judge as an expert in criminal law in the Circuit Court of Broward County
Mr. Weick is a member of the Florida Bar, Ohio Bar, Federal Bar, National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Broward Bar Association.
