Strong Arm Robbery
WSVN reports that Broward County police officers are searching for a group of men who were allegedly caught on a convenience store video camera committing a strong arm robbery.
Criminal attorney William Moore explains that the theft occurred last week and a review of the videotape clearly shows the group of assailants all of whom were wearing red T-shirts at the time.
The victim Artic Wilcox explains that they rushed and grabbed him, tearing off the jewelry from his neck. All video footage apparently corroborates Mr. Wilcox statement made to police. According to attorney Moore, a theft occurring in this manner is more severe then the felony charge of grand theft as it involves a violent act. That being the physical snatching of an item from the victim. The name for this offense in Florida is strong arm robbery and can be punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
